I search for the texture that algorithms weren’t designed to produce.

Approach

I work in ComfyUI, first with SDXL, now mostly with Z-Image Turbo in my own platform Art-Rium. ControlNet lets me decide how much control I keep and how much I leave to the model. Many images start from my own sketches or 3D renderings. Upscaling workflows take them to print size.

The palette stays the same across all series: rust orange and dim blue.

Series shown here

  • Paradigm Shift: figures in rust orange in deserts, corridors and on the shore. Groups, ladders and rings of people, the single person against the mass.
  • Alteration: bodies and objects that change their material: a figure of plastic film, a face in fabric, a flower of rust.
  • Recursive Identities: faces that grow out of each other, in flowing layers of rust, clay and blue. Printed up to 8192 pixels.
